so, i was watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEKQ4PJn5TU

man, how fukken cool are elephants
they do shit... with their noses!
that's the crazy kind of shit evolution comes up with
i bet you wish you could do stuff with your nose
i don't wish you could though
you'd be like some kind of freak
an elephant man if you will
or elephant girl, depending on the obvious
besides, now that i think about it
we can do shit with our arms
and we have two of those
elephants must be so jealous of us and our two arms
stupid elephants.

It seems I haven't posted a proper update since May. So here's a list of all the amazing things I have been up to since then:

Right, so now you're all caught up. Bye.

friday: job interview with wilkinsons... woo.
next monday: jobcentre course starts, 13 weeks in norwich, lame.
the week after: download festival, not lame.
2 weeks after that: holiday in cornwall, jobcentre probably cut me off jobseekers for having too many holidays.

Been a while since I've done one of these sort of things on here...

Type your name into Google along with 'likes to', all in quotes (e.g. "Twatface likes to"). Post the first ten results.
1. Rik likes to knock people slightly offcentre: 'One of the purposes of being alternative is to present people with something new and different.
2. Rik likes to buy and sell things on eBay, dislikes small dogs, and loves to confront and correct people on their use of bad grammar.
3. Rik likes to ride his bike, take creative photographs, and torment small stuffed animals.
4. Rik likes to think he would have taken the red pill rather than the blue pill.
5. Rik likes to be comfortable. He is never seen without his favorite black hoodie and a pair of loose jeans.
6. Rik Likes to Test Drupal.
7. Rik likes to say "there's no substitute for cubes".
8. Rik likes to put his penis in peanut butter.
9. Rik likes to keep his audiences small so that he can answer the delegates' questions individually.
10. Rik likes to work with things he finds on the ground or in the garbage.

Yeah, well I guess that's not far off.

Seether clashing with Black Dahlia Murder

Skindred clashing with Amon Amarth
Alter Bridge
Bullet For My Valentine
Testament clashing with Offspring

Within Temptation
In Flames
Children of Bodom clashing with Jimmy Eat World
Jonathan Davis clashing with Cavalera Conspiracy

At this rate I'm only going to see 12 of the 17 bands I want to see. That's bullshit. I'm hoping it gets shuffled around a bit because if it stays like this I'll be well pissed off.

Well, it's that time of the year again. Spiders are suddenly everywhere, in particular, my bedroom. Always walking around in circles going nowhere, creeping worryingly close to my bed... And that's without even considering all the ones no doubt lurking under the bed. Dammit.

In other news, I went to Middlesbrough last week. I can't work out whether it was good or shit. I think it was actually pretty shit, but it made such a nice change from being here that it seemed good. I definitely didn't see enough of some people, or was too drunk to have any kind of meaningful conversation with them anyway (or remember it), but I also ran into a couple of people who I wasn't even expecting to see, so that was nice. But still, the majority of my time there consisted of being hungover, with nothing to do, and no internet access. Not exactly a success. I'll have to make a more well planned visit sometime, in which I actually get to spend time with people in less drunken and less noisy surroundings. It probably won't work, I'm no good at plans.

Time for an update I guess. There hasn't been a lot to report lately, my life being the fascinating story that it is. Occasional driving lessons, looking for jobs, and just sitting around not doing much sums it up really. I've booked my theory test now, which I'm actually really looking forward to. I've not had any trouble with the mock papers my instructor's been giving me so I'm pretty confident about it. I'll be pretty gutted if I don't blitz it anyway!

Next week I'm venturing back to Middlesbrough for no good reason. I just figured it was about time I paid another visit, haven't been up there since August I think it was, so it will be good to see people again. It'll also be good to have a parmo or five, I've been having withdrawal symptoms!

I suppose before long the job centre will send me off on the dreaded 13 week course of doom, since I'm still a bum. It's amazing how often companies don't reply to job applications, some do but I haven't even gotten as far as an interview since December! I've also registered with a few agencies but I never hear from them either... useless gimps.

So yeah, that's pretty much it. Toodlepip.

I have had an incredibly lazy day today. Which is certainly nothing new. Except this is the first day in 2.5 weeks, excluding weekends, that I've not really had to do anything.

I have stuff to do though, I just can't bring myself to do it. I am the absolute master of procrastination. I really, really wish I wasn't...

I'm considering cutting my hair quite drastically, though I'm not yet sure how drastically.
I do definitely prefer long hair though, and I'm sure I'll miss it once it's gone. But I just fancy a change really. Also washing / brushing it is a complete pain in the arse. Hmmmm...

Man my mood is up and down like a seesaw lately. I'm feeling somewhat better again now.

Although it's a crazy bent seesaw placed on top of a post so that its two extremes are "really fucking low down indeed" and "actually somewhere about middling, perhaps slightly higher".

Here, I have supplied a diagram:

Wait a second... do these already exist? :S
